Tonight was a model for what I hope my daily ride will be. I decided my route last night; a route with as little backtracking as possible, because I like seeing new scenery the whole ride. I can tell that I am getting stronger because I wasn’t exhausted at the end, and this was the longest ride I have ever done. I even had enough energy to ride up to Chama River brewing company to by a growler of oatmeal stout, I feel I earned it!

Today I did 22 miles on my fixie. Since Albuquerque is one huge hill it slowed me down a little bit; but I never get tired of passing the other cyclists as they spin their legs wildly. It makes me feel like Lance Armstrong. Yesterday I passed a lycra warrior only to have him overtake me after about a half mile, so today when I came across another one I hesitated and stayed behind him fora while. I decided to go for it, and I lost sight of him after five minutes. A good day on the trails to me is where I can mash a lycra warrior, and then not see the rear end of one for the rest of the ride!
P.S. I’m just jealous because I don’t look good in skin tight apparel. : )
